<넓은 바위에 누워 달을 보며>는 한국의 가장 아름다운 정원인 전남 담양의 ‘소쇄원’에서 영감 받았습니다. 16세기 중반 하서 김인후가 소쇄원의 진가를 문학적 감수성으로 풀어낸 시조 ‘소쇄원 48영’ 중 ‘제13영: 넓은 바위에 누워 달을 보며’에 묘사한 밤 풍경을 재해석하여 공간 설치작품으로 구현했습니다.

작가는 자연과 영상이 하나가 되어 천천히 거닐 수 있는 가상의 정원을 만들었습니다. 처음 마주하게 되는 그림자 정원과 공간에 흩뿌려진 영상 작품은 미처 발견하지 못했던 자연의 고유 형태들과 움직임을 단순한 그림자로 표현합니다. 작품 속 그림자는 빛의 반대 개념인 어둠이 아닙니다. 생명을 가득 품고 있는 무한한 공간입니다. 그림자를 가만히 응시하다 보면 사물의 본질에 가까워지는 시간을 경험할 수 있습니다. 자연의 모습들이 빛을 받아 인간이 만든 구조물에 그림자를 드리웠을 때 비로소 인간과 자연이 소통하게 됩니다. 그림자 정원을 지나면 아름다운 보름달이 떠 있는 또 하나의 정원을 마주하게 됩니다. 밤이 깊어질수록 달의 형태가 변하고 달의 형태가 변할 때마다 그 주변의 숲과 천도 계속해서 새로운 모습을 보여줍니다. 자연으로 떠나기 어려운 현대인들이 소쇄원의 시처럼 바위에 누워 푸른 하늘에 밝은 달을 감상할 수 있도록 고요한 밤산책의 경험을 선사합니다. 이제 상상 너머를 거닐고 온 사유정원의 마지막 여정을 즐겨보세요.

<Looking at the Moon as Lying on a Wide Stone> was inspired by Soswawon in Damyang, South Jeolla Province, Korea's most beautiful garden. In the mid-16th century, Haseo Kim In-hoo reinterpreted the night scenery described in "13 Young: Lying on a Wide Rock and Looking at the Moon" in the 48 Young Soswawon, a literary sensibility of Soswawon.

"I went outside and lay down, and there was a bright moon in the blue sky, and the wide rock was a good spot.

The forest around me is scattered with shadows, and I can't sleep even though it's deep night."

The artist created a virtual garden where nature and video come together and walk slowly. The image of the first shadow garden and space scattered throughout the space expresses the inherent forms and movements of nature that have not yet been discovered in simple shadows. The shadow in the work is not darkness, the opposite concept of light. It's an infinite space filled with life. If you stare at the shadow quietly, you can experience the time when you get closer to the essence of things. Humans and nature communicate only when the images of nature are illuminated and cast a shadow on human-made structures. After passing through the shadow garden, you will encounter another garden with a beautiful full moon. As the night goes on, the shape of the moon changes, and whenever the shape of the moon changes, the forests and streams around it continue to show new appearances. It provides a quiet night walk experience so that modern people who are unable to leave for nature can lie on the rock and enjoy the bright moon in the blue sky like a poem in Soswawon. 작가설명 Artist Biography

녹음은 자연을 주제로 공간을 연출하는 가드닝 스튜디오 ‘수무’의 아티스트 그룹이다. 사람의 손이 닿지 않은 태초의 자연을 인간의 공간으로 가져와 그 속에 오브제, 영상, 음악 등이 하나로 어우러진 작업을 시도하고 있다. 녹음의 작업물과 함께 호흡한 관객들의 마음속에 푸르른 숲이 자리 잡게 되기를 바라며, 종국에는 가슴속에 품은 따스한 숲이 우리들의 터전에 실제의 숲이 되어 울창한 녹음(綠陰: 푸른 잎이 우거진 나무나 수풀)을 어디에서나 쉽게 마주하게 될 수 있는 날을 꿈꾸고 있다. 2020년에는 공예트렌드페어 주제관에 《순환되는 Circular》 작업물을 전시했고 《매화점장단》 작업을 곽철안 작가, LIDART와 함께 공동 전시를 진행했다. 2022년에는 DDP에서 처음으로 개인전 《가장 조용한 집》을 선보였다.

Knock’em is an artist group of SUMU, a gardening studio that produces space with the theme of nature. They seek to bring the untouched nature into human space, creating works in which objects, videos, and music form a unity. The group hopes that a green forest will settle in the heart of the audience who breathes with their work, and eventually, the warm forest in their heart will be realized in their living place, and people can see this forest dense with green leaves and trees everywhere. Knock’em exhibited 《Circular》 in the theme zone of Craft Trend Fair 2020 and 《Maehwajeom-jangdan》 with artist Kwak Chulan and LIDART. In 2022, the first private exhibition 《The Unspoken Place》 was held in DDP, South Korea.
